The Carver County Family Resource Center (FRC) is a welcoming community gathering spot where families and caregivers can find trusted support, local resources, and meaningful connections. Based in Chaska and serving families throughout Carver County, the center helps people find and navigate the services they need without having to figure it all out alone.
On November 18, 2025, community leaders, service providers, volunteers, and local residents gathered to celebrate the center’s official grand opening and ribbon cutting.

For many of us, it was the fulfillment of a vision that had been developing for nearly 15 years.
“This moment has been a long time coming. For 15 years, many of us have been dreaming about a place just like this. Somewhere families in Carver County can come, feel supported, get connected, and know they’re not on their own,” said Khai Tran, co-founder of A Better Society and a member of the FRC Advisory Committee.
The FRC is a partnership between Carver County, A Better Society, and a growing network of nonprofit organizations and community service providers. The center is located inside Chaska Moravian Church, which offered its space and became an important partner in bringing the project to life.
The goal is not to duplicate the good work already happening across Carver County. It is to make that work easier for families to find and access.
Families can visit the center to receive guidance and referrals for:
- Parenting education and support
- Child development opportunities
- Housing resources
- Mental health support
- Financial assistance and food support
- Healthcare and health insurance
- Employment assistance
- Early Childhood Family Education
- Multilingual resource navigation
Just as important, the center gives families a place to meet others, build relationships, and feel connected to their community.
No single organization can meet every need. But when organizations work together, we can create clearer pathways, remove barriers, and help families take their next step.
That spirit of collaboration is at the heart of the Family Resource Center and at the heart of A Better Society’s work.
The grand opening was more than a ribbon cutting. It marked the beginning of a new chapter for families across Carver County. It was also a reminder of what can happen when people come together around a shared vision and stay committed to it.
A Better Society is proud to help facilitate the center’s daily operations and donations. We are grateful to Carver County, Chaska Moravian Church, the Sauer Family Foundation, our community partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped turn a long-held idea into a real place where families can find help, hope, and connection.
The Chaska location is only the beginning. The long-term vision is to bring Family Resource Center services and support closer to families throughout Carver County.
