Hi family and friends!
Minnesota’s special day of charitable giving (Nov 16, 2017) is upon us and this year we’ve decided to take a different approach to our annual fund raiser. Due to the high GiveMN administration fees (increased from 2.9% in 2012 to currently 6.9%), we are requesting donations be made directly to A Better Society. While we still have a project page on GiveMN, please consider sending donations via check or credit card so that more of your money goes directly to support our community projects.
A Better Society started as a grassroots organization to help kick start and scale community projects and this mission continues.
We are still:
– 100% volunteer-run, ages 7-70+
– No paid staff
– Community supported
– Not limited by geographic, socio-economic, religious, nor ethnic boundaries
– Everything is provided free of charge (this includes consulting and training for schools and community groups; project management and support for social entrepreneurs; all bikes, new helmets, and locks)
